British drummer, producer, and composer Moses Boyd is widely regarded as a pivotal figure in London’s groundbreaking contemporary jazz scene. He seamlessly blends the traditional discipline of his conservatory training with the vibrant club culture of his hometown. His sound is best described as contemporary crossover jazz, weaving raw jazz improvisation with rave and underground genres like grime, afrobeats, jungle, and electronica. Early in his career, Boyd earned two MOBO Awards and two Jazz FM Awards, but his major mainstream breakthrough arrived with his solo debut Dark Matter (2020), which earned a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Beyond his solo output, Boyd is a highly sought-after collaborator. He has toured with Sampha, produced and drummed on tracks for Beyoncé and Sons of Kemet, and co-leads the acclaimed jazz duo Binker and Moses alongside saxophonist Binker Golding.
