Slow Pulp

Slow Pulp’s indie rock effortlessly navigates between dreamy shoegaze, raw guitar outbursts and fragile indie pop. The band formed in Madison, Wisconsin, where childhood friends Henry Stoehr, Alexander Leeds and Theodore Mathews were already making music together before singer and guitarist Emily Massey joined them. The quartet are now based in Chicago, but their close friendship and shared love of alternative rock from the 90s and 00s still form the heart of their sound. Following their critically acclaimed 2021 debut ‘Moveys’ and their breakthrough with ‘Yard’ in 2023, Slow Pulp have emerged as a promising act on the contemporary indie rock scene. On their third album, ‘Melodie’, the band sound more cohesive than ever. For the first time in years, Emily Massey and Henry Stoehr have once again written intensively together, resulting in an album where exuberant power pop, melancholic ballads and dreamy guitar landscapes alternate.
